There were 18 teams from 8 schools in the Varsity Switch-Sides division. The tournament broke to quarterfinals after five preliminary rounds (the final being a flip-for-sides). It took a 3-2 record with 152 high-low points to clear; six 3-2 teams broke and three did not. All teams debated a sixth round during the quarterfinals but speaker awards were based only on the first five debates.
